Welcome!

The Norval Community Association welcomes you to the Lucy Maud Montgomery Children’s Garden of the Senses!  The creation and development of this wonderful children’s Garden is an initiative of our Association.

norval garden of the senses

The Association is a not-for-profit organization of volunteers dedicated to fostering community spirit, organizing community events and programs, beautifying Norval, and preserving the local heritage including that of Lucy Maud Montgomery, a one-time resident of Norval.

The realization of this Garden initiative could not have been accomplished without the funding of the ONTARIO TRILLIUM FOUNDATION, the support of the TOWN OF HALTON HILLS and the generous sponsorship and donations of businesses and individuals who have seen the value of this initiative.  A very special thank you is addressed to all of you who have donated to this unique Garden.

Your Support

We are continually enhancing the Garden, adding new sensory plant material and incorporating unique landscape elements, as well as developing and enriching our Garden Programs for children, older adults and people with special needs.  Please help us realize our dream in creating a one-of-a-kind sensory garden that fosters inclusiveness and allows individuals of all ages and abilities to enjoy its treasures.  Please Donate.

Our Programs

As part of the Garden initiative, the Association provides educational and therapeutic Garden Programs to the community which are held in the Garden during the summer months and that focus on children, older adults and people with special needs.  Please refer to Garden Programs for more information.

Community Support

The Association maintains the Garden through the efforts and dedication of its volunteers. Volunteers also assist with the delivery of the Garden Programs. If you are interested in being a volunteer please refer to Volunteers.

Visitation

The Garden is a public Destination Park of the Town of Halton Hills and it is available for anyone to visit during daylight hours.  Please refer to Visiting if you are interested in using the Garden facilities for a period of time.

The Garden has come alive.  It is really wonderful to see families, children, older adults, and community residents at the Garden strolling through the sensory gardens, relaxing in the plaza, hopping through the woodland, exploring the waterfall, and playing in the activity area.

Bring your family and friends and explore the sensory gardens.  Please share your experiences with others so that they too can come and enjoy the Lucy Maud Montgomery Children’s Garden of the Senses.

On behalf of the Norval Community Association, Kathy Gastle, President
