Checkerboard Garden

The Checkerboard Garden is visually stimulating, emphasizing form, pattern and repetition.  As you enter the sensory gardens, you are greeted by a row of beautiful tall Ivory Silk Japanese Tree lilacs, carpeted with ground covers arranged in a repeating pattern of vibrant red, green and silver blue colours.  A checkerboard effect is achieved by creating “squares” using these plantings and concrete tiles from the adjoining pathway.
